Hometown Throwdown featuring EyeQ, June 23rd!

We are back at Kick Butt Coffee & Booze for our next Hometown Throwdown, on June 23rd at 8pm! No tournament this time, but we have a spectacular music lineup, including a visit from EyeQ all the way in from Orlando. And of course, there will be games all night – including The Multibowl, which I remind you is a game that you cannot play at home!
We’re at PAX South this weekend!
Attention Pixels fans – PAX South is this weekend, and we will be there!
We’re set up in the MAGFest Jam Space. All your favorite games will be there (as well as some brand new hard-to-find stuff – stay tuned for more about that tomorrow!), and of course we’re sharing a space with some of the hottest musical acts at the show, including Pixels regulars DJ R.O.C.K.M.A.N., Star Fighter Dreams, The ChocoBros, and Gimmick!
Come check in at the Jam Space and see what we’ve got going on!
Pixels Will Be At Classic Game Fest!

Plus, the first 10 people to take home a Pixels t-shirt will get a free Steam Key for their own copy of Lethal League, generously provided by our friends at Team Reptile.
Pictures and Video From Our Latest Throwdown
Thanks to everyone for coming out for our most recent Hometown Throwdown—it was our biggest and best event to date!
- Quite a crowd this time.
- Featuring a live performance from The Returners!
- David and Lauren duking it out for second place!
- Chris Taylor, winning his first place shirt.
- David Boyd, our second place winner—all the way from Los Angeles.
- Lauren Liebowitz, third place winner and bandleader of The Returners!
Congratulations to Chris Taylor who took first place in our Tetris Attack tournament, as well as David Boyd and Lauren Liebowitz for fighting the good fight and coming in second and third. Huge thanks also to The Returners, for a spectacular performance (including the live debut of their new version of the Dire Dire Docks theme from Mario 64).
Thanks also to everyone who only came so they could try out Mario Kart without having to buy a Wii U. We know you’re out there. We understand.
And of course, thank you to Kick Butt Coffee, Music & Booze, our gracious hosts, for giving us all a place to drink and a place to play.
Keep your eyes peeled on this space for the latest updates, news, and Pixels events. We’ll see you again by August!
P. S.: The Returners, in all their glory:
Hometown Throwdown on 3-8!
Hometown is coming up this Saturday, and we’ve got more fighting games than ever!
Street Fighter, Skullgirls, BlazBlue, SFxT, UMvC3, and more—we’re even setting up so people can play Last Blade 2, one of our very favorite classics.
It all goes down from 2 to 6pm on Saturday, March 3, at Kick Butt Coffee & Booze on Airport Blvd.
Bring your arcade stick, your liver, and your game face. We’ll see you there!
Brief Hiatus!
Our live events will be going on a brief hiatus, as we’re moving apartments this month. Have no fear, though—we’ll be back on the week of August 6 (exact date and time TBD), and you can reach us here on the website or on Facebook/Twitter until then!
