Hometown Throwdown – Feat. LEX the Lexicon Artist
We’re keeping it rolling here with more out of town acts next month. Crazy! This time we’ll be sporting Dual Core, Star Fighter Dreams and Bitforce from down in San Antonio, and LEX all the way from Oakland, CA. Crazy!
Not to mention drink specials, booty bangers, and all the games your little heart could desire. Come thru!
Hometown Throwdown featuring EyeQ, June 23rd!

We are back at Kick Butt Coffee & Booze for our next Hometown Throwdown, on June 23rd at 8pm! No tournament this time, but we have a spectacular music lineup, including a visit from EyeQ all the way in from Orlando. And of course, there will be games all night – including The Multibowl, which I remind you is a game that you cannot play at home!
Hometown Throwdown: Feb Edition!
Come on out to Kick Butt Coffee at 8pm on Saturday, Feb 3rd!
We’ll have Amanda Lepre and Descendents of Erdrick rocking your face off, your usual games, and a special appearance by THE MULTIBOWL. $10 at the door, with $3 drink specials all night.
What is the MULTIBOWL? Some of you may have experienced it at PAX South 2018 at our set up, but for those of you who haven’t been lucky enough…
MULTIBOWL by Bennet Foddy (QWOP, Getting Over It) and AP Thomson (Beglitched) – is a two-player challenge of skill and knowledge, across exciting moments in over 300 historical games across dozens of hardware platforms. It’s the first videogame collage, maybe.
Come out and see us, and experience the majesty of the Multibowl yourself.
We’re at PAX South this weekend!
Attention Pixels fans – PAX South is this weekend, and we will be there!
We’re set up in the MAGFest Jam Space. All your favorite games will be there (as well as some brand new hard-to-find stuff – stay tuned for more about that tomorrow!), and of course we’re sharing a space with some of the hottest musical acts at the show, including Pixels regulars DJ R.O.C.K.M.A.N., Star Fighter Dreams, The ChocoBros, and Gimmick!
Come check in at the Jam Space and see what we’ve got going on!

February Events!
We’ve got two big events coming up this month!
Y’all made our first Nerdcore Nights in Jan such a success that we’re returning to Karma Lounge on Saturday, February 18th at 9:00pm for another round. We’ll have more dancing, more thumping tracks, and more games, all for no cover! Come on down and see us!
And if that isn’t enough, we’ll also be hosting the first ever show by the Returners with their new line-up.
It’ll be only $5 for a night with more games, more bumpin’ phat trax, and having your face melted off on top of that. You can find the Facebook event here.
Pictures from December 17th’s Throwdown, Ft. The Returners
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to our last throwdown of the year last Saturday at Kick Butt Coffee. It was a bit of an emotional moment as Lobos played his final Austin show with The Returners.
Looking forward to ringing the new year in with y’all. Keep your eyes peeled for our January event!
Nerdcore Nights!
This Saturday night, Pixels will be teaming up with the people behind Hero Con for NERDCORE NIGHTS at the Recess Arcade Bar in downtown Austin!

Pixels Will Be At Classic Game Fest!

Hometown Throwdown: Starwhal!
Now that we’re through with the filthy casuals of Street Fighter 5, we think it’s time for a REAL competitive game….
STARWHAL combines everything you’ve ever wanted in a game: Narwhals and Space. So strap on your modified tooth-horns, buckle your seatbelts, and prepare yourself for neon insanity.
We’ll have all our usual drink specials, games and more, plus DJ Rockman will be spinning that night for even more retro 80’s insanity.

The Returners CD Release Show!
You’ve probably already seen this on Facebook, but here you go!
The Returners have invited us to come and run games at their upcoming Album Release party, at the One2One Bar on Lamar, south of the river. We’ll have WiiU, Lethal League, and perennial favorite: Tetris Attack! running all evening, in case you need a brief break from having your faces melted off by the line-up. If seeing the Returners isn’t enough to get you out of the house (and if it isn’t, what’s wrong with you?), then the least you can do is come out to see us!

Sign ups are first come, first served, and we’ll be capping the tournament at 16 entrants this time, so be sure to sign up as soon as you can. We’ll be taking sign-ups in person at the event starting at 8pm, or you can sign up by shooting us an e-mail at [info at pixelsbar.com]
